I started to make cards 5 years ago when I wanted a special card for my close friend's 40th birthday. From there I have gone on to sell my cards to work colleagues, friends and family. In 2007 I had surgery to both arms and in 2008 surgery to my right shoulder. Along with this, my position at work was made redundant in November 2007 after thirteen years service. I have now decided to work hard for myself and hopefully succeed in my business plan to open a gift and card shop in Huddersfield. I have strong credit control and accounting skills so I am hoping this will make life a little easier. I still have restricted use of my arms and I no longer can work on a computer eight hours a day so my work options are fairly limited. I am hoping that this will be a way forward for me to go back to work.
