Bradford’s next generation of budding business men and women were introduced to the ins and outs of world trade and international business at Young Enterprise’s second ‘Our World’ event on Thursday 13th March at Odsal top, home of the Bradford Bulls.

Run in co-ordination with the Children’s University of Bradford and Keighley-based Link Telecom, over 100 young entrepreneurs, aged 10 and 11, from thirteen primary schools across Bradford District attended the day-long event run by business-education charity Young Enterprise.

Students took part in a variety of hands-on activities and games to learn about how countries rely on one another for resources and business growth. The day’s activities finished with ‘The Trading Game’, which saw students pit against each other as countries of the world trading for money or assets.

Business volunteers from Link Telecom offered advice and experience during the day. Through their real-life input, pupils were offered a window into the ‘world of work’, and a context in which to understand the importance of education and skills development in their future.
