THE BIG ONE: You didn't miss it again, did you??!!
With just over 110 members, the GRID BBQ event went off at a buzz!
Jenny Pupius, Chief Executive of Action for Business LTD, Carlisle Business Centre and member of the GRID steering group kicked off with welcomes and GRID successes to date!
This was followed by our guest speaker Jane Vincent, Managing Director/Founder of Horizon Recruitment. With a turnover of £28 million and a profit of £1 million a year, a whopping 15 branches across Yorkshire and recent winners of 'The Best of the Best' and 'Best Recruitment Agency' of 2008 awards, they are true pioneers in their field. Jane's father passed away just before she opened her first branch in Bradford several years ago and spoke about the many challenges she faced as a new start up.
Jane is incredibly funny, no wonder she has so many happy employees!
This was followed by SPEED NETWORKING! Everyone was given one minute to say who they were and what they could do for others and then were asked to move tables! It was quick and fun! Thank you to Haseeb Qamar (Accent CP) Sohail Nadat (Business Link) Natalie Kershaw (Bradford Chamber) Fiyaz Mamoniat (ATL) Tariq Ismail (Bfund) Julie Black (Ask Julie) and Andrew Gibson (BizFizz) for facilitating.
Lastly and not least, the lucky winner for our prize draw was Ansar Mirza from Mirza Travel Agent who won a hamper supplied by HIBA HAMPERS! Check out their profile on the GRID!
